About this role
We're hiring a Founding AI Engineer at Ethereal Labs. You'll help build the core AI stack for video-first consumer entertainment. We're looking for someone who has worked on real production AI systems and understands what it takes to make AI reliable, scalable, cost-efficient, and usable in actual product workflows. The work is messy, technical, and high-ownership.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain the core AI stack for video-first consumer entertainment products
- Make AI systems reliable, scalable, cost-efficient, and usable in real product workflows
- Own problems end-to-end in a fast-moving, high-ownership environment
Required qualifications
- Built or worked on production LLM systems
- Built multimodal workflows across text, image, video, or audio
- Created evaluation pipelines for AI outputs
- Hosted or served custom/open-source models
- Worked with video systems at scale
- Strong backend instincts around queues, retries, reliability, monitoring, and cost
